How should a battery room be designed?

Should a hydrogen gas detector be installed in a battery room?

Consider the hydrogen gas detection and alarm system interlocked to the exhaust fans. Local codes usually do not require hydrogen and other gas detectors to be installed in dedicated battery rooms. If used, hydrogen detectors should be set to alarm at a maximum of 2% concentration.
